Howard, that seems plausable, but also a huge gamble. For what?

If they discover that THEY were the only cause of the upward momentum and no one comes to the party at higher prices, aren't they stuck having bought a bunch of stock at higher and higher prices that no one wants? I can see that they can provide a "floor" with their buying, but if the people on ASK refuse to capitulate and sell at BID, then the stock sits there with no trading. I saw this today in several issues and found it unusual. 15 minutes of jockeying the bids and asks, but NO TRADES!

Eventually, I guess, they are hoping for tremendous momentum from day traders hopping aboard a rising stock and from the squeeze forcing buying by shorts. Do they believe they can unload all their accumulated stock during this momentum? Why cannot we interpret their buying as a reflection of a huge order to buy a bunch at no more than 11 1/2? Can't today's action reflect REAL ORDERS?

howard,
I appreciate all the excellent analysis regarding OMGA from
you and all the others. It appears as if there was another
factor at play here which may explain much of today's action.
If you look at the following post:

Message 8065009

you will notice the following comment, well down in the message:

"we short like we shorted OMGA after going long today"

My guess is that mex put out a flash buy on OMGA in mid-afternoon, that it was likely him accumulating through RAJA front running
his upcoming buy call, and that once he unloaded his paper into his subscribers buying, he switched to the short call. IMO, the rapid
price rise we saw had the look more of a mex strike, than the
yahoo rumor, but, then again, the whole thing may have been one
giant orchestration that included the yahoo rumor, merlin and other daytrader chat groups.

SH

Great play by play Howie.. Thanks for taking the time to post it, and the follow ups, Ughh Incredible. Thanks to everyone.

I swear I learn more from just hanging out around here, its really been a serious education the last month or so. Makes me wonder how I ever got along on my own !!

And the atmosphere of the thread, very very cool. Just wanted to take a few mins on this sleepy Saturday morning, to say thanks to Anthony and everyone here, for making it happen, and for sharing your collective insights, knowledge, and experience.

Looking forward to meeting you all in August !!

Steve
