Pigboy: Proper Paris laptop voltage should not be a problem.
I have an IBM ThinkPad laptop (about 1 to 2 years old, MMX 133 Mhz Pentium) an it has auto voltage setting - 100 to 240v~, 50/60 Hz

Looks like you just need to get hair dryer outlet adaptors.

Man you don't know what you are talking about. The 110/220 is used by power supply which converts it to DC. CPU uses DC voltage like 2.0, 2.1, 2.2 and so on. On most of the mother boards cases you can select voltage you want by moving appropriate jumpers.
