Stefan,

in your post you wrote

So who will decide which stocks are going to be upgraded and which will be downgraded? .

In your Profile you describe your investment style as...

Join the momentum don't fight it. I have learned my lessons.

======================================================================

I do not know you and as such I may be wrong, but if I were to base my opinion of you I'd say you are a "follower" who needs to be taken by the hand and told what to do. Are you not able to evaluate a company on your own? Do you really need the guidance of a blind analyst?

I, on the other hand, do not see the necessity of an analyst. More often than not these analysts cannot tell the difference between tit from twat. Contrary to what you might think of my opinions, I strongly believe in a FREE and OPEN market system where access and information is equally available to all. The stock market should be governed by the most elementary law of capitalism...ie, the law of Supply and Demand.

If investors are willing to pay $XX amount of dollars for shares of Company ABC then that is the value that should be attributed to that stock at that "point in time". If investors suddenly reduce their willingness to buy that stock at that price, then the value will be adjusted consequently. We certainly do not need an analyst to tell us what we should pay. This doesn't sound like socialism to me, rather it sounds like Freedom to exchange without intervention by some super-authority.

Tell me Stefan, do you think it's fair that the big guys are allowed to trade during off hours? Do you think it's fair that they have access to privileged information long before we do?

The SEC has regulations concerning disclosure of information. Do you think these regulations are adequately enforced?

Seeing that you are a follower and greatly value the opinions of analysts, how do you feel when one analysts says that a stock is valued at $110 and a few days later he changes his evaluation and suggests it is only worth $80 ? In that situation would you not think you were misled, possibly screwed?

I wish, Stefan, that before making accusations you make an effort to understand the other's point of view.

SirVinny,

PS - Now that you mention it, with the money I lost I could have partied for a year with them call girls.
