*2002 G* 3M projected subscriber numbers (based on recent CCs)* Specifically mentioned countries China (7%) 250,000 Brazil 200,000-225,000 Canada 200,000 Russia 200,000 Australia 125,000 US 110,000 India 80,000 Korea 70,000 Countries not mentioned Europe Japan S.E. Asia (non-China) S.America (non-Brazil) L.America (non-Mexico) Middle East N./S. Africa Caribbean (cruise ships, ya know) Anything I'm missing?? Note: In ING CC, Bernie said 35-40% of G* total subscribers in 2002 would be in China, Brazil, US, Mexico, Canada and Russia (1.2M total). In a simple calculation using the 1.2M as 35-40%, 3.0-3.4M users would be 100% of G* users in 2002. This figure equals G* consistent statements about 3M users in 2002. In addition, Bernie said China's 250,000 users would be 7% of G* users in 2002. Using 250,000 as 7%, 3.5M users would be 100% of G* users in 2002. Again, this figure is consistent with G* statements. Note: In the ING CC, Bernie said that, due to recent events, Brazil/Russia aren't included in G* projections for the first 6 months, but they can be ramped up very quickly when needed. This point was made very quickly and I'm not sure I took it down correctly. If anyone else has better notes, feel free... **If anyone has other G*/Bernie public statements about G*projected subscriber numbers in press releases, CCs, SEC filings, etc., send them to me and I'll keep a running tally. P.S. I agree with Maurice. Why not fall in love with an investment. I've got 50% of my net worth in non-equities. With the other 50%, I've got 50% in long-term, more conservative holdings (including bonds). With the other 50% (of the 50% of the 50% :-)), I get to have fun picking aggressive, growth companies with global franchises. Rode ASND from $27 to $80 from 11/97-1/99 and have reinvested most of this moola into GSTRF/LOR for the ride from $15 to $50 (year-end) and $100 in the next couple years. Launch the birds, let G* talented and hard-working employees do their thing and let's rock....
