Hi hio: As the article states, last week was not the first failure by Schwab. In addition to the event in January, which it mentions, there have been others. In general, the web site has become routinely slow in heavy volume days, especially at the opening of the market, and the harmonisation of accounts sometimes takes days to get right. I was one of Schwab's first customers in its London office which was also it European and Middle Eastern office. Its Mayfair office is less than 100 yrds from my home there, and it was opposite my local grocery store. It was housed in an elegant 18th century building and provided clients with a beautiful library and research facilities. As it has grown and brought on more staff, it reduced the space available to clients down almost to nothing, and has finally given up and moved to the financial district in the City of London. Schwab bought out a British online service.

It is still a good service but not as good as it used to be.
