It is more than dramatics that's happening in that courtroom. Neukom and outside counsel are doing a good job of their own dramatics on the courtroom steps, but that's not what wins a case. And about those satellites: BillG is an investor in Teledesic. It isn't his idea, it isn't his company, and it isn't his "crew", and it certainly isn't a Microsoft "innovation". If you're looking for a hero to worship on that score, pick the guy who runs the show, Craig McCaw, another local billionaire (or fractional billionaire since his divorce), neighbor of BillG, and a guy with a pretty good record himself. But pick one of McCaw's companies as an example of what will happen: AT&T Wireless nee McCaw Cellular or his current baby Nextel, which he bought into rather than taking a seat on AT&T's board.
