When there's a major selloff near month end, I tend to suspect that the mutual fund managers just might have a major role in the action.

While we'll probably never know, mindless selling of an entire sector without apparent consideration to the prospects of individual companies strikes me as a fund manager's mentality.

I agree with what you say obviously in particular the cautious approach. I think the industry is coming out of the slump but what is always hard to determine is when is the good news here and it is time to sell. A bumpy recovery which more and more I think is the hand that has been dealt with throw investors/traders more than one curve ball. Time will tell.
