Saw the article and uttered a eulogy for our “expanding economy.” Someone here claimed Clinton's plan likely DOA. I would not count on it so long as Republicans remain the jelly-fish they have been for too much of this Administration. Clinton is desperate to fashion some sort of "legacy" out of the ashes of his scandalized tenure, and if he has to nix Greenspan to do it, then Greenspan is gone. Clinton is a campaigner, and even now is selling America on "saving" social security by use of the much celebrated "surplus". Sure enough, I recently saw a poll in which the majority of Americans said they did not want a tax-break. Fancy that. The American people are telling the federal government, "Hey! Don't let us keep more of our money!" Where are the Republicans during all this? Er uh, I dunno.
