>In a January CBS News poll, only 30 percent of adults surveyed said Clinton shares the moral values by which most Americans try to live. Sixty-four percent said he does not -- including 51 percent of Democrats.< So does this mean almost half of average American Democrats claim Clinton actually does share their moral values? Does this really mean that if I encounter two Democrats one of them will likely be the moral equivalent of Bill Clinton? If so this is certainly nothing to celebrate. Indeed it is nearly catastrophic. Can Democrats be this degenerate? … >On the other hand, his personal approval ratings are a measure of the country's cultural standards and will be part of Clinton's historical legacy, including what's taught to schoolchildren.< History will be as kind to Clinton as history can get away with because historians are already in Clinton's corner. Your children will not get the raw, nutrient rich milk of truth concerning Clinton's history. They will get water. The encyclopaedias will tell you of how this young president was a twice elected, efficient “policy magistrate” who was hugely popular as he led the nation during its greatest economic “expansion” in history. It will also mention that while his administration was constantly plagued by scandal, most notably the scandal surrounding allegations of sexual relationships with PAULA JONES (see “TRAILER TRASH”) and MONICA LEWINSKY (see “STALKERS”) for which he was impeached, he managed to hold onto power to become the first American president of the 21 century. >Clinton's numbers indicate that the country does know right from wrong.< (grin) So do most murderers and thieves, but it does not stop them from killing and stealing. It is really very easy to know what is right and wrong, but what is required is having the integrity to live and act accordingly. Americans may know the truth, but they have not the character to live it. This is the problem.
