The shorts can be forced to cover this way but in m ost cases if the stock is marginable there is usaully plenty of stock to cover short borrowing..

Short squeezess are possible when ever youi have a crowded short and usually those who arent finanacially capable of holding a short get squeezed out at a loss only to see the stock come crashing down shortly after..

All the above scenarios are possible..

a real short squeeze occurs when the majority of shorts all at aonce decide they want to cover and it becomes a free for all frenzy to buy back shares ..that is why you will often see me cover when a stock has come down but just before it completely disintegrates ..most others hold looking for that extra eighth or quarter or point ..I have a lways believed you cant hit a moving target and by recycling my shorts I avoid most of those problems..
