How about the additional "non-cash" considerations when leaving aol:

* 5 mailboxes so everyone in the family can have their own private emails.
* the ability to set access levels for children so they aren't constantly running into filth.
* chat rooms dedicated to children
* the buddy call scheme. Some parents would face an active revolt if they tried to switch!
* superb content that's been prescreened by aol

OK, so it's a cumbersome internet interface. Most aol users could care less.
