I don't know whether or not I caught this conversation in its entirety, however I use both a DSL and a cable modem (my buddy has DSL so when I am there we are on DSL, when we are at my place we connect via the cable modem). There really is no comparison. I like the cable modem much better. It is much faster. My buddy is envious and wishes he lived in an area where they offer cable modems. I don't know if all cable modem service providers are as good as the one I have (Cox@home), but I have seen no comparison.
