Michelle,

Mybe so. But I have a recurring prescription that cost $180 for 480 tablets at my local pharmacy, and $216 at Drugstore.com. And that difference seems representative. So I am skeptical about a mass following for the expensive on-line stuff. Certainly, I have no incentive to switch.

Besides, the insurance companies (and medicare, medicaid) will negotiate away any possibility of excess profits for the drug resellers.

Re: "coolness" as applied to prescriptions, On NPR one night they were talking about
PlanetRx which is another one of these. Apparently there is a physician online 24hrs, and
you can converse in a chat setting or via email. If I remember correctly this implies you
have a sort of "medical history" as far as your questions and replies are concerned,
maintained onsite with PlanetRx. So, they've got you.

Eckard Drugs along with many other brick and mortar stores offers the same service. The difference is you can get your prescrition the same day. There is a 24 hour 800 number for Eckerds
