Almost everything is in your head and that's where you make your heaven or hell. I was so annoyed by Jim's horrible assault on Christine that I was reminded of Schopenhauer's rotten view of the world. A philosopher, so called, he beat up an old woman and had to pay her every week. When she finally died, he wrote in his journal the "old woman dies, the burden departs." All his victim was to him was an expense. He was so egoistic that he never believed that he had ruined her life. I believe Jim was just having fun, but it seemed very cruel to me. And it wasn't true. Old age can be the most delightful part of life.
Its obvious that you have not passed through menopause. Love isn't all in the glands, its mostly in the head. Many women -- most I known -- welcomed freedom from the tyranny of fertility especially if they've had a child. With your view of men (I think it isn't quite that bad) and what you think that you must do to attract or amuse them you are going to be amazed at your new freedom. If you are proud and sure of yourself (that's the trick) you may even find men who like you as a person -- not merely as a sexual object. Since the husband's blood line is safe from contamination by foreign genes, post-menopausal women are in some tribes (not ours yet) permitted (tacitly) to have lovers -- platonic (often priests) or otherwise. If appearance worries you (I think it does) then simply make sure you keep yours or improve it.
I know you look very good. Any woman who was what you wrote you were would at least smile a lot, shave, use a depilatory, and eat bulky foods. She certainly wouldn't brag about problems among all of the rich (well, comfortable) men and women here. I think you're still a Southern belle, who wants her self-criticism to be denied. Well, I deny it. You have a powerful kindly mind. You look very fine to me, and I have no ulterior motive in saying this to you. There's far more than raw sex out there. Just try to keep the uncooked grits well-brushed out of your hair (like any Southern girl) and you can have as much or little from any good man on any terms you want. Good hunting!
