paul-- i dont know exactly what you are seeing, but all the tests i have seen indicate even the K6-3 is on par with the p2 and p3. and when the K7 comes out, they will be ahead of p3, retaking the lead. i remember when K6 came out...i bought one of the first machines with one. still works great. the point is, unlike the past AMD isnt racing to keep up with intel. as the market clearly has shown, they are on a par with intel at the very least. good luck to all, trey
