Tim, It varies from state to state here. In Ontario the surface rights holder must give way to the mining rights holder, but when you finish you must restore his place to the original state or pay $. Often stubborn people hold up open pits as to make a mile across pit and then make it flat farmland again is too costly and the mine goes away.

Mining Leases in times of no Federal Moritorium on Patenting as there is lately, can apply to patent the lands by the fee payors after 5 such years. I actually have some claims a stonmes throw away from nice developing neiborhoods out by the Oro Grande Mine, that means a benny in the future. ( after the lands are reclaimed...such would be BETTER to sell nice lots in nice Neiborhoods that sell farmlands over the mile across open pit in Canada that Bill was talking about. Remax just opened up 4 streets and a model home in May on a 200 lot subdivision. That is the tickytack, I hold the high ground with the hills and Valleys with the $200+K homes all doted around, and that is outside of roght and tumble Wickenburg! Half way there now, I just might start the Real Estate Planning now!

P.S.- Doug, the fat lady hadn't sung yet. Case not closed, IMHO...my bud the conservature is the reason, just a gut. Hi, I 'm the new... reasons! Let me skim some off the bottom and shave a little here abd there....and guess what....he has a freeby on the company. Dale might just save the day when he is rich and famous. When Maxam prroovveess that what is there is economic.

Hmm, the IPM thread is STILL alive with hope although the company is dead and buried. Dreams die hard, indeed.
