GST,

I will try to get some clues from how high amzn goes up next week. Just to see if these intermediate highs continue to get lower, or whether it will break the pattern and race to the 150's.

In the drop from 199 to 93 I made a mistake that nearly wiped out my account. On the day it gapped down and raced toward 93, I shorted at 110, then 105, then 95. Of course it turned around at 93 then went to 140. I had been so convinced that once it broke down, it would run down all the way to 40. I had even planned to increase my short at 40.

This last time I knew enough to refrain from shorting it in the 80's. However, the same sort of non-event that turned it at 84 could come at any time. A friendly analyst issues a re-it, and day-traders pile on and it goes up 40 points. The time frame is pointing to a repeat around options expiration time, again.
