Robert
Thanks for the Barrons article, I subscribe to Barrons and read it this morning. Up here in Canada the situation is the same drilling down, pipeline capacity up. This will lead to higher prices.

I think the article is on right track but a little optimistic re. gas prices. Other numbers I've seen call for '99 prices to be in $1.90 range (per MM BTU), '00 prices in $2.25 range and '01 prices to be in $2.75 range. The trend is right. I figure electical capacity coming on line over next year should increase demand by 3.5 Billion cubic ft per day which would eat up storage in about 200 days or by next winter. The feeling in the industry is that $3 is upper end of range. As prices approach that number a lot of needed production and exploration will be stimulated.

I like the stocks you picked. Others to consider include KP - making $, 2/3 of revenues from gas, very modest P/e and great management, and IO - maker of seismic equipment. Each have considerable insider buying.

Also want to copy another article on Salomon forecast/recommendations:

NEW YORK, Feb 25 (Reuters) - Salomon Smith Barney's
natural gas analyst, Thomas Driscoll, raised his forecast for the
average price of natural gas in 2000 to $2.75 from $2.35 per
million British thermal units (mmbtu), his office said Thursday.

The forecast is based primarily on a falling drilling rig count, which
has cut the number of wells drilled and will curtail future
production.
