Bob,

Do you have any idea as to whether the predictions are content driven(portable VCR's, GPS etc) or whether they take into account new technologies that have not yet gone mainstream? In California, there is a currently stretch of road where they are testing cars which will do the driving for you. The cars get on the highway, pass other cars, and will exit the highway all without any assistance from the "driver." Guess we'll need a new name for the person in the front left seat<GGG> The processing power per car will be enormous(most likely the equivalent of 10 Pentium III's per car) so an increase of $26B to $150B in 10 years is probably going to turn out to be much higher if indeed all of the cars on the road incorporate this Jetsons-like technology. The pace at which technology is developing is increasing at an accellerating rate, and this is not, and cannot, be accounted for in estimates.
