Monty; Thanks for the inside view of the Roth IRA, I never even considered it, simple because I'm convinced when the government changes some rules like that it's seldom some kind hearted act on their part, that don't have a hidden agenda. Why did they advertise it so hard , who was the other beneficiary ? Did brokers some how benefit from this ? I seem to remember getting tired of all the mutual fund commercials , convert Now ! ----------------------------------- What kind of Tax have they put on Social Security, now that makes good sense don't it, it's a Tax on money that's Tax money anyway, I never saw why any Government person should pay TAX it don't make sense to me just pay them less to start with, why the hell Tax Tax money, more book keeping ? --------------- I really hate to start on them, I tried over the years to have respect for our Federal government in spite of knowing a lot of it was but double talk and broken promises. I lost a lot back in the 70ts when I got a Real Estate license and saw what they did in collusion with the Bankers to the Veterans in reguard to the VA loans, it was so dishonest it turned me sick, well I blamed the S&L jerk offs the most, but still the Government had to know what was going on. Man I hate to get into Politics on the thread , but I got started, so here goes. Follow this with out argueing For or Against the death penalty, I mean if it's good or bad is not relative to the point I want to make. IF you remember, in the late 70s our great leaders did away with the death penalty in total, then they brought it back in part, the point is not the doing away, or bringing it back, BUT the "in part" when it was first brought back in after it's brief vacation it was brought back & to exist only if a person killed a Politician or Policeman Now let me tell you I went ballistic you would not believe the letters I sent calling them Chicken sit no good scum bags. It was simple to me , IF we needed the death penalty, and it was to be considered a deterrent that was not my concerns, the concern was it "if considered that way" it left the Women and Children out from under it's umbrella. If it was to be considered some sort of protection why in Gods name would they omit Women and Children, even their own; and just cover their candy asses. That did it for me, while I might picture some certain politician as an OK person, there was nothing and no way I could respect them as a grope when they did that. I'm sorry but I have never forgiven them for that chicken sht act. I could accept the it's good, OR it's bad, & in good faith that they were honestly trying to come to grips with a problem but when they brought it back and left out the women and children that did it for me. As a grope they became the biggest and most Chicken S gang of hustlers in the world. And I told them so too, I guess I may have got to one or two as about a year latter they took out the "Politicians and Police only crap" and didn't make a lot of noise about it. Mind you I never argued for or against it, just the way it was to be enforced was the only point. If some one wanted to hurt you really bad and was a bad guy wouldn't he go for your kids, what the hell was wrong with them. How could they even consider it bringing it in like that, let alone passing it into law that way. I think that fiasco was the last straw for me, and that they never expelled the chicken s ones that voted it that way made me sick, as far as I was concerned they didn't have the right to serve in Government ever again; in any way or form, they became lower than maggots in my eyes. It did me in, the fact that they finally brought in the women and children did not redeem them in my eyes not after all the hell I raised and caught about it at the time. Man I should never get started on Politics, I've caught them slim balls at to much crap. I don't want to say every single one , at least not yet, but the half way good ones are in such a minority it's a total disgrace. Jim
