Tabler....If I remember correctly, ZZZBest was a carpet cleaning co. or at least started that way. The co. got big press and a stock following as a kind of Horatio Alger sstory....young kid from nowhere makes a fortune thru hard work in a menial type of business, etc. It was a fraud almost from the git-go...false accounting, mainly receivables, I think. None of the wirehouses followed it so it doesn't seem like it would have had much institutional following, but maybe so.

Re: ZZZ best. As an elder on this thread I can tell you what I remember.

There was this young wonderkind around 23 years old at the beginning, who took his carpet cleaning business public. He was the daddy of the Sothern California scam operations.

ZZZBest was a carpet cleaner, but you could only cook the books so far in a fast growing carpet cleaning business, So he theoretically got into the carpet restoration business for large skyscrapers and buildings that had flood damage, or fire damage. Places where you could bill really big bucks.

Problem was the stock flew, but the sales and earnings were bogus. It was small potatoes next to today's scam artists, but he was our generation's Ponzi. (Hope you all know what Ponzi did).
