Mr. E2u -

I too have accounts at Datek and Etrade, as well as at MBT.

Right now I'd say MBT and Etrade are about equal in what they can borrow for shorting. Not the same stocks, but similar percentage of what I'd want to short. Datek is now worst of the three.
