Help me out here. I looked up the WorldGate web site and note that they plan to use the vertical blanking interval to carry data, much the same way that Wavephore does. As such, why would they need to sign up cable companies, would they not instead have to sign up TV channels to allow data decoding through their box? And/or make agreements with Wavephore in case Wavephore has exclusive agreements to do this? Furthermore, I am not sure the vertical blanking interval has the bandwidth for the full internet service and throughput that ATHM provides. It appears to me that WorldGate's service would provide enhanced TV content specific to each channel, and could not be considered in the same category as a internet provider. But then, I am just going by what little I read on their web site.
