Heh Everybody. Recently, I had a chance to meet a prospector who does a lot of work for Claude Resources in Saskatchewan. He was showing me some ore from one of there properties and talking about the different minerals that were in it. It was interesting stuff for me because I've never seen anything like that before. However, once the Geology 101 lesson was over, I asked him if he had any good stock tips for me. His first and only pick was Winspear. He is holding for the long term now and sees $15.00 a share sometime this year. I asked him about the possibility of the Winspear samples being salted and all that he said was he didn't have much use for that "Kaiser bottom feeder guy". I asked him about his thoughts on ARP and NWI. He said he trades on the fundamentals and leaves stocks like NWI and ARP for guys who sit at home all day and do their trading watching computer screens. Right now, NWI doesn't have enough information out to convince him there's a mine there. With respect to ARP, he said the grades are so high that he can't believe them and therefore does not own any shares (even if Barrick is involved). Anyways, for some reason, my discussion with this fellow has given me more confidence in holding Winspear. Otherwise, I don't have much to rely on except for what's printed here on SI, a few technical graphs, and the odd call to management. That's the gist of my story. Sorry for the narrative and remember, don't listen to me though, I'm just a novice investor. Also short position @ Feb/15/1999 in Winspear was at 74,000, up from previous report by 15,400 shares. On Friday, WSP closed above 40 day moving average price indicating a possible up-trend to start next week. Rise
