Texas Micro Launches Two New Embedded Products at the Intel Developer Forum
PALM SPRINGS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 25, 1999--Texas Micro Inc. (Nasdaq:TEXM) announced the launch of the P1000BX-SVE Series Single Board Computer (SBC) and C1000BX-SVE Series CompactPCI(R) SBC at the Intel(R) Developer Forum (IDF), Feb. 23-25, 1999, Palm Springs Convention Center, Palm Springs, Calif.
Both SBC products, which feature 300, 366, or 400MHz Intel Celeron(TM) processors, were introduced during the announcement that Intel is adding the Celeron processor to its embedded product line. Texas Micro's P1000BX-SVE and C1000BX-SVE data sheets and other pertinent information were included in Intel's collateral kit to support their announcement.
"We are excited to be included in the Intel Celeron launch. We have been working closely with Intel for a number of years and will continue to follow the path they have established in the embedded processor market segment," says Michael Stewart, president and CEO, Texas Micro Inc.
"These new single board computers from Texas Micro feature the newest additions to our embedded Intel Architecture product line and will give embedded designers more options in creating and delivering their products to market more quickly," says Tom Franz, general manager and vice president, Intel's Embedded Microcomputer Division.
Both the P1000BX-SVE and C1000BX-SVE are architecturally identical to Intel Architecture-based PCs and are compatible with off-the-shelf operating systems and applications. These two products will allow original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and value-added resellers (VARs) to quickly develop their own implementations for their respective markets. Both SBCs will be used for applications in the telecom, data, medical, industrial and high-availability markets.
Optimized for price/performance, Intel's Celeron processors in Socket 370 form factor yield a high level of functionality with expandability to help meet the user's needs and affordability requirements.
The P1000BX-SVE, developed for PCI/ISA and ISA passive backplane systems, and the C1000BX-SVE are based on Texas Micro's high quality line of SBCs. This product line incorporates highly integrated modular designs from proven technologies as well as cost-effective, innovative features.
Texas Micro's two products are available today. Both products are designed with the Celeron, Socket 370 processor, the C & T 69000 AGP Controller, the 82559 Ethernet Card and Intel's 440BX PCIset chip set. And, both are PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturer's Group (PICMG) compliant.
The IDF is a semiannual, three-day conference targeted at business and consumer desktop, mobile, workstation, and server hardware original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), independent hardware vendors (IHVs), and independent software vendors (ISVs) working on advanced platform solutions.
