The next dimension. This was my thinking this morning, I may have been picking up on the thinking in the two posts prior to the one prior to this. This is a compound made from Reiter, TVontheWeb, and the technology of Quake game maker id Software. Imagine a home page on the Web. Imagine the page is filled with the usual promotion for the company, and in the center, a tiny site-map: like an outline; several first level heads each with several sub-heads, and under each of these links to other sites, order forms, downloads, support, e-mail, chat rooms… Then imagine that this tiny site map enlarges, like a Mandelbrot Set when the cursor is located on it, and that this process occurs in 3-dimensions down through each level of organization. (Later we can imagine it occurring in virtual space). No more waiting for each level to load before clicking on the link to another level etcetera. Simply steer your way to the chat or service or support departments, ring the bell, and the door opens…(perhaps it greets you, and guides you to a computer terminal where you can type in, or speak in your message. . .), perhaps (in the service, or support departments) with robot sales personnel, or perhaps even with continuous real time participants typing or talking back.
