You'll never grasp it till you understand that you aren't looking at the big picture but only the narrow issues the Republican's focus on. People see that this is about a lot more than just the legal system. You just can't seem to get it that this is about politics not legalities and the use of the legal system to get the President politically is what everyone in the majority saw. It's never been about perjury and obstruction of justice alone; it's also been about politics and an political enemies and the tearing down of the President's reputation in the media by any means necessary. This is what people are seeing and when you add in this extra aspect of it all; it is clearly not JUST about the legal system. This is the clever, but hardsell, and failed sell that has been made. People just weren't going to see this as being purely about legalities when it is involving so much politics.
