What kind of people? Cheap labor.

What kind of work? Probably assembly-line production for Flop! or Zip.

What kind of quality to expect? Shoddy.

$8/hr is low for assembly-line component work in this industry. These are part-time jobs no doubt, and overtime pay will probably be a definite no-no for supervisors to schedule.

A nephew of mine is doing such work for $11/hr for a major computer box maker. For only $8/hr, the typical worker is going to be a choice between fresh-out-of-high-schoolers, people (tired ones no doubt) holding down 1 or more other jobs, etc.

Quality Control may have busy days on its hands. But at least Iomega will have cheap labor.
