T, It is also one of those indicators like The Superbowl Theory that have no causal relationship. Yes, candidates tend to hand out largesse in the year before an election, but that doesn't always translate to a great year in the market.

Now, using the Dow closing numbers, I see that 1931 was down a bit over 55%. Are you saying that isn't good? <g> 1939 was down a tad. 1987 was up a tad, but many managers I know weren't that happy in 1987. <g> Nonsense and flapdoodle.
