Greeting to the thread,

Beautiful day here in Houston area and the Rodeo is going great guns ... still, I just had to check the thread on a Sunday afternoon.

>>>year 2000 law going into effect that fresh produce and medical supplies "MUST" be loaded on plastic pallets.>>

The goal is not for everything to be moving on plastic pallets by the first day of Y2K ... the logistics of that would be mind boggling, and simply not feasible. From the materials which I have read on the EuroCrate (I think that is the project title) there will be a period of several years over which the mandate will become applicable to different products ...

In spite of the tremendous profits to be made in that area, the manufacture of equipment and the potential of being to negotiate arrangement whereby PPP receives an ongoing royalty are also very great and more immediate. IMHO, this is a uniqueness that should probably be exploited in the most expeditious manner.

>>> "Is it possible that large plastic companies with tremendous R&D have overlooked what PPP is attempting"... >>

Not to be a smart @$$, but isn't that the key that unlocked to door to little upstart companies down here in Texas ... like a crazy college kid at UT that wanted to sell homemade computers called Dell, and those other guys who thought they could take on Big Blue head-to-head, and now that company is headed by a rather smart German.

>>> We are here for the engineering and management comments. Language arts can wait as far as I'm concerned. >>

Amen ... and we have been treated to some first class highly innovative engineering. After visiting the plant and seeing everything for myself, I was amazed at the product we have invested in ... I'm not going to give MJ a PhD in Management, but I do believe he has proven two things beyond question: 1) He is an apparently honest innovative manager with more than a few outstanding international contacts, and 2) that he possesses some of the most sought after entreprenurial traits and abilities. He also seems to possess one of the most common, yet absolutely pain-in-the-rear traits of highly innovative entrepreneurs - he underestimates the time required to perform many managerial tasks ... face it, he underestimates almost everything he sets out to accomplish. At least, he offsets that with the ability to eventually get it done. Still it drives us investors up a tree, but THEY all seem to be that way, and we're not going to change them.

As far as US marketing is concerned, I would like to see a detailed outline of the marketing plans for both the machines and the pallets. And, I'd really appreciate that info being presented without a lot of under-projected dates ... but I can live with that also. I have taken some of the products to the company I work for, and they are starting to sit down and consider if they should appoint a committee to look into the possibility of considering whether they should start to accumulate data which will ...... ahhhhhhh. I love a cluster flop, but these never on time bureaurcacies are driving me nuts ....

Hope I have neither offended nor in any manner mislead anyone ...

Hogger

BTW: You can bet your last cent that if my company does purchase or lease the pallets or other containers they use from PPP, I'll be doing everything I can to insure that I get the largest commission possible ...
