I thought we resolved those split infinitives about 500 posts ago and determined that fanatical adherents to Latinate forms like this are misguided as they have no bearing on Modern English Usage, as Fowler also stated.

Those aren't ellipses; they are merely pauses.

If three periods seriatem are not ellipses, what are they. I know of no other name for such punctuation.

In speech, I suspect, she fills in any moment of potential silence with some equivalent of "ah" or "um" or "like"--am I onto something?

No, the woman is able to talk while breathing in and there are no silences, potential or otherwise.
