Well, from what I can remember, the original Windows 95, contained no special characters after the 4.00.950. That would be the case if you purchased the full version or upgrade in the stores.

In that case, the service pack on Microsoft's site would apply to you. However, if you got Windows 95 OSR2, bundled with your system if you got it rather recently, it already has that service pack installed with a few other things as well. That's why it's called version B. There's also a C.

Doesn't mean that the copy of Windows 95 installed isn't perfect. Microsoft has released a few updates and fixes. I highly recommend you install them if it applies in your case.
