I believe that if you have version A, then the service pack will do nothing for you. (Doesn't mean the other updates won't though)

If you have B, you're one up on A. From what I know though, B is only available as OEM software with a new system. Can't buy it at Office Depot or something like that.

Curious to see what would happen if you installed the service pack on a system running version "B". I doubt it would overwrite it. Most likely tell you that you already have the update installed, and that running the service pack is not needed. I'll test it on Monday if I have time.
