And as a shareholder, I'm glad CompUSA doesn't let itself get ripped off, because shoplifting of expensive goods doesn't help the bottom line. How can you object to this policy?

I certainly don't object to discouraging shoplifting. My point was the checkout area is roped off from the merchandise area, so once you've made your way to the check out, you no longer have access to shopliftable <g> items. I'd have to be Houdini to grab something between the cashier and the guard, especially since he had nothing to do but watch me pay for my stuff. Just made me feel like they suspected ME of being a crook. Not the way you want your customers to feel, (especially customers that are stockholders).
