Nicholas and all -

I'm currently reading a book that addresses the type of question you just asked. It's called Trade Your Way to Financial Freedom
by Van Tharp ISBN 0-07-064762-3

Among other topics, it delves into a mathematical approach to determining what is a good system vs. a bad system.

I highly recommend it.

When you system test you should be looking for the results that fit the way you trade...... some people like to trade a lot while others like to ride a trade for weeks at a time... The results of your system test should reflect this and become a factor in your decisions.
