WAY2GO, RICHARD!!!! $4.60 per! You sonuvagun!!! Yes, these R primarily int'l trade units, promoted by the LDS'ers or Church of J.C. of Latter Day Saints, or Mormons, how ever you recognize their name.

You see, that religious system has long mandated a coins and butter survival philosophy that has held them in good stead, so much so, that in Nov of 98, the bigwhigs cut off the public access (that would be the rest of us heathens donchaknow) to their canneries as a national matter of policy, while allowing individual stake presidents final say so, if the local mormons were not maxing out the canneries themselves for normal "Y2K preparations.

As I've mentioned on this thread before, the Mormons have a long history of gold production. Many years ago, some destitute lady up on the Seaside coastal county here in Oregon, cashed in some of her hoard and her international trade units "got into circulation" via a local coin shop. Only one of them would touch them, which I thought was strange, because I bought every last one HE had when I spotted them.

The mormon issued/sanctioned pieces have the fineness description on the reverse in multiple languages, as well as their private, inside joke logo, the beehive, somewhere on the graphic portion.

Would be curious as to know if any of yours sport said beehive.

Thx for writing.
