Me too, PSN. . . .but I like to teach the masses of lurkers out there that don't yet see it that clearly. There are many many threads that say buy this OTC. . .pour your hard earned money into it. . .buy it now. . .hurry, its your last chance. . .put your kids college money into it, so they can go to a better college. . . .HURRY HURRY.

But there are few threads that have the gonads to call a spade a spade and declare a scam a scam . . . and even declare some "saviours" to have deceitful agendas that do more harm than good. Now and then, I have to restate my position on this subject. . . so that this thread is kept clean from the trash that fouls most penny threads.

That is why many hypesters stear clear of this thread. . .and scammers don't bother trying to pass off their pick-of-the-week here.

The fishing thread is not immune to scammers by no means. . . but it is hopefully a safer place, where at least a scam will be seen for what it is and nothing more. . . and hype is ignored.

Some simple rules that I have stated in part many times, but not often as a whole:

I will not buy stocks from Vancouver, Boca Raton, La Jolla, Denver or Las Vegas.

I avoid stocks that:

- Were formed thru shell mergers
- Have been financed thru offshore placements, debentures, etc.
- Have convertible debentures, warrants, preferred, that could cause extraordinary dilution
- Do not regularly report their financials to the SEC
- Say they want to report their financials. . .but don't
- Don't have a phone number that is LISTED in the city they conduct business [you would be surprised at how many there are].
- Have websites that seem to cater to investors. . .but not clients
- Advertise to investors . . .[although this is a good place to find momos. . .]
- Have assets that are not readily verifiable. . .due to being offshore, or "artistic" in nature or 'tied up in mergers' or 'too difficult to sort out' for whatever reason
- Have revenues that are not readily verifiable for similar reasons
- Press Releases that cannot be readily verified for whatever reasons
- Have press releases that show acquisitions, conspicuously missing the exact cost of the acquisition [amount of cash. . . number of shares]. . . "undisclosed" doesn't cut it.
- Have CEOs, CEO's wives, or CFOs that answer the phone
- Refuse to give directions to the company headquarters, when you bluff a visit
- Have approved a reverse-split . . or have an RS of more than 1 for 10 in the past 2 years
- Have a history of heavy dilution
- Insiders have listed numerous sells with the SEC in recent months
- Press Releases describe a "revolutionary" product. . . but you cannot see it with your own eyes. . .or have it tested independently
- Pending SEC investigations
- Pending intellectual property lawsuits
- Extraordinary dilution thru preferred stock
- Dirty trading history.. .

Well, there are others. . .but you get the picture.

You of course must still make wise decisions, not merely avoid pitfalls. . .to see gains. But, if you follow this plan. . .you will avoid 98 percent of the OTC and arguably 50-60 percent of the Nasdaq. . .and hopefully, your portfolio will grow rather than fall . . . and isn't that why we are here?
