>>>>Castlewood Orbs at PCMALL.com!!! You can pre-order your parallel port and SCSI external Orb drive here: cc-inc.com <<<<

>>Rockies. Does pre-order mean order BEFORE something is actually available ?<<

Yes. The only version of Orb currently avilable to the best of my knowledge is the EIDE Internal model. Reports are coming in from Usenet that this is a very fast, robust, and well-built drive--something totally different than Syquest SparQ or EZ-Flyer.

The parallel and SCSI external Orbs may be available this coming month. Well see. But for now, if you want an EIDE internal Orb drive, you can have one delivered overnight from numerous places online.

The speed specs for Orb are actually better and faster than the 2.5 inch fixed laptop drive that powers my Roland VS-1680. And the cost? Only $199 for the Orb drive, and more importantly, only $29 for each 2.2Gig Orb disk! So you can be sure I (and many others) will be ordering the external SCSI Orb as it becomes available.

Yes, it means they are expecting delivery any time and preorders will be the first ones to get. I'll be one of them.
