Being that 'games' have been such a major driver of Intel product upgrades, I find this link, regarding Sierra re-org to be notable as the PC creaks and groans over the top of it's demand curve.

gamecenter.com

It seems like such a small matter; 150 programmers out of work, but it stands in such contrast to the 'end user' salad days of thrilling graphics and compelling upgrades. Intel's PIII product ad slogan seems to fall flat with some vague reference to enhancing one's 'Web experience'.

You can almost hear the collective "uh-oh". This may be the moment we've been waiting all these years for.

Dear Evergreen, A few weeks ago, I believe Prudential announced that Intel would not make 1999 earnings. Should have copied the announcement & perhaps outlook has changed since then.

Thank you very much for your post though. I no longer own Intel stock because I worried about their future for the short term, anyway.

Best wishes,

Mephisto
