ACS 101, I don't think that author was suggesting shorting big nets
at this particular moment, nor because of valuations.

My take is that he is suggesting keep on the lookout for warning signs-- not the least of which would be a sudden lack of interest in ipos.

A very successful trader I know in NY said the obvious around Thanksgiving. Two things have to happen. One, supply of shares grows bigger than demand. That can show up in a number of ways....
fizzled ipo, no more huge pops on good news or a buy rec, you
can imagine some others.

Second... as big nets start getting close to showing profits,
or actually do show profits, they will be valued more closely in line with earnings, albeit still very rich multiples.

For laymen like me, that's what I'll be looking for.

For the better informed, they'll be watching fund flows, as well as listening to phones at large brokerages for the sell orders from customers and funds alike. Not to mention early warning on 144's , or revenue short falls.

Knowledge is power, arm thyself.
