I told you I wasn't serious, didn't I ?!! Interesting aside. I bought a new Toshiba Portege 3010CT to take to New Hampshire. But I could not get my real time software to work because the weekly share price update file took for ever to upload and would just eventually stop. Turns out this 1.something cm. deep notebook has no cooling fan so what it does when the pentium gets hot is crank down the clockspeed, hence serious degradation in performance. Well, to cut a long story short I got a load of ice out of the fridge and sat the heap of shyte on the ice pack and asked it to to update the weekly file. Hey Presto it worked. Hey presto I will be sending the Tosh back, pointing out to them that it is all very well carrying around a 17 ounce notebook but who carries the ice maker and does it count as hand luggage..... bert.
