Expecting public information not to be commented on is absurd. Given your line of reasoning, we might just as well toss in the towel. What a copout, "Somebody made snide comments on the internet about the official public testimony of a public official, so therefore we are going to have an information blackout becomes somebody might say something about us." Strawman aguments and red herrings, imho. I've read the testimony several times and find nothing in it to be encouraging. I even printed out a copy with the comments edited out, gave it to a couple of friends (y2k denial-heads) to read....shook them both up.
