Hi PW,

"Are you talking INT 13H or
INT 21H? How about FCB access as opposed to file handles?"

Bingo. I've run into situations where clients had Windows 98 on their systems, with an old DOS 6.22 drive. They were running a couple of 6.2 programs that screwed the boot sector and FAT on the Win98 drive.

That's why having an invisible partition might be better. There are also some DOS based programs like ACCPAC 6.1 that require SHARE be loaded. That's fine if you run it through a DOS window from within 98, but since SHARE is not a Windows DOS command, it cannot be run in MS-DOS mode only.
