Hitachi makes a series called 'Skyline'. They were taking business from IBM's largest machines for years because each Skyline had larger 'engines'. When IBM made the decision to go CMOS years ago, Hitachi stayed with a hybrid CMOS/Bipolar machine. Turned out to be a good move as some of America's largest corporations continued to buy 'large engine' mainframes. However, the new G5 series of CMOS mainframes IBM released some months back have caught up to the Hitachi bipolar mainframes on a 'per engine' MIP level, so Hitachi's advantage is not what it once was. In any event, I'm sure Schwab is buying machines as quickly as they can get them, the one installed last week was airlifted to them via chartered jet....

John
