Howard, My resume in the field reads as follows in the Readers Digest condensed version <g>:

1. Tech analyst and Chief Options Strategist at Waddell & Reed, a firm currently ranked number 2 by Barron's among all mutual fund managers.
Then,

2. Equity and options portfolio manager and trader at The St. Paul Companies, holding co. for St. Paul Fire and Marine and The Nuveen Funds. Then,

3. Equity, options, and futures portfolio manager and trader with Financial Hedge Corporation in Dallas. Then,

4. Fixed Income, Options and futures portfolio manager and department honcho with American Capital in Houston, now part of Van Kampen-American Capital, now part of Morgan Stanley Funds. Took a fund from zero to ten billion bucks in a little over two years at that one. Then,

5. Retired horse track bum who manages his own portfolios and a small Maximum Income partnership with 6 high net worth individuals.

Why the thread became popular? Don't know. I think part of it has to do with the fact there is no Off Topic and we frown on net Nazis who try to slime folks for thinking differently.
