In the world of high tech hasbeen can happen quite fast. Apple computer is a great example of a company that turns on a dime. The attitude of most Techies I know is that Ericy is beheind technologically compared to other's. I dont know if thats true or not, and nor do I care. What I care about is that Erickson is a blue chip name. If they can settle this squalble with Qcom the sky is the limit!
I dont believe WCDMA is any different then CDMA2000(except chip rate). I believe Ericy and Qcom have to settle for this reason. Whoever is morally right is inconsequential. I have been a long time Qcom long, as well as a Ericy Bear. I have changed my view in light of, what I believe, will be a JV between Ericy and Qcom. There are many on both these threads who cant read the writting on the wall. Ericson needs Qcom's help with getting any form of CDMA to market. Qcom needs Ericy to help promote CDMA and get it acepted as a converged standard. Without a union both will have a much more difficult journey. These companies have reached a watershed in their respective histories. A deal might not get done, but I have bet heavy that it will. I think Ericsson gains as much as Q does, but the markets so far are disagreeing with me. Regards MM
