Hot Technology Companies: 143 Qualify In February
SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 1, 1999-- Facts Online announced that 143 U.S. technology companies qualified as ''hot'' during February 1999.

Of February's 143 companies, 41 percent are privately owned and 59 percent are public. February's companies are headquartered in 24 states.

However only 4 states contain almost 60 percent of the headquarters: California (37.1 percent), Massachusetts (9.1 percent), New York (7.0 percent) and Texas (6.3 percent).

To qualify, companies must have received new investments or made major acquisitions during February. Examples of new investments include venture capital fundings, initial public offerings and private placements during February 1999. In addition, the companies must have national presence or potential.
