Servers may be but I doubt about workstations. The reason one
wants to run a 'workstation' is usually some special software
(e.g. those high price graphics package) which usually is not available on Linux. Even for servers, so far it is those
network software(DNS, mail server, news server, Web server etc.).
Mainstream server software like Oracle is just appearing.
The usage of Linux is still quite limited.
