Now, E, I so seldom disagree with you that this is very difficult for me, but really, I have to disagree with your terribly sexist solution. why should his girlfriend have to go through all that? She isn't to blame for his tattoo. I think he should have another V added to the V making a W, and another arc attached to the N making an M--all gratis of course since the tattoo artist can't spell. And then HE can go to court and change HIS name to William.
