Your points are well taken, Doughboy. As a result of that book, I got in and out of I2 and Manguistics last year, lost money on Vantive, and made money on Seibel.

What I learned was to stay with the established Gorillas until their story changes. That's why I am 57% Microsoft, 26% Cisco, and 17% AOL. I look upon the AOL as a "speculation" on my part.

I think the book is right on the long term sway of major Gorilla's, and the fact that they do better than the market expects. I rode Cisco from 65 to 40+ to it's present price in the 12 months, and know you had better be prepared to ride the big waves if you want to surf the Gorillas.

>>Could anyone have forseen the fall of IBM as a "gorilla" (or Xerox, General Motors, and Boeing for that matter)?

Yes.
